Open Mic Nights is Gorkhaly Foundation’s flagship recurring event. It was started in July 2015, immediately following the aftermath of the earthquake in Nepal, in partnership with Le Mirch. The goal of Open Mic Nights is to provide a platform for local artists of the DMV area to showcase their creative talents. It also became a space for people affected by the earthquake to commiserate on the tragedies brought about by the disaster. While we have been able to achieve our intended goal, Open Mic nights has evolved to be a unique opportunity for people to network and socialize in the DMV area.
Open Mic Nights are hosted every last Thursday of the month at Le Mirch near Dupont circle in Washington, DC from 7-10pm. Le Mirch is an Indian restaurant with a French influence that uses the farm-to- table concept in a posh venue. Le Mirch is our official partner that has continuously provided the space for this event. In addition, the Foundation also receives 22% of every dollar sale of food and drinks on the Open Mic at Le Mirch. There is a $5 cover charge for attendance.
We are continually seeking to be innovative and bring exciting and fresh new formats to the Open Mic. We look forward to create better marketing strategies and engage the community with novel ideas. No single Open Mic is ever the same. We encourage you to experience the next Open Mic. JOIN US!
