MUKTI AND REVIVAL REBUILDING NEPAL R.x.R Tour

Mukti and Revival and Gorkhaly Foundation of Washington D.C. collaborated for a charity concert Tour. This was a historic concert as this was the first time a Nepali band headlined at the Fillmore, Silver Spring where international artists like Whitesnake, Megadeth, Stone Temple Pilots, Third Eye Blind, The Fray, The Offspring, and many others have graced the stage. The band successfully completed shows in Minnesota, New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Texas, Illinois, and Washington DC. The mega tour is a second in the annual series of charity concerts by Gorkhaly Foundation, whose mission is dedicated to helping Nepal, recover from the 2015 earthquake.

ANI CHOYING DOLMA LIVE IN CONCERT

Gorkhaly Foundation in association with Bhintuna International organized a fundraising concert for Ani Choying Dolma, UNICEF National Ambassador and peace advocate, at the Lisner Auditorium, George Washington University, Washington, DC. The total attendee for the concert were 700 + guests with his Ambassador from Nepal to USA Dr. Arjun Karki as chief guest.

40TH MARINE CORPS MARATHON

Gorkhaly Foundation’s volunteers participated in the 40th Marine Corps Marathon to raise funds for the foundation’s on-going rebuilding efforts. The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), also known as “The People’s Marathon”, is the fourth largest marathon in the United States, and takes place annually in the DMV area. This year Gorkhaly Foundation had six runners running and raising funds to support our rebuilding efforts in Nepal. Shriyam Dhakal, Rodger L Johnson, Pradeep Rajbhandari, Signor Rana, Shakti Regmi, and Suman Silwal were the volunteers who ran the full marathon, and also managed to successfully raise over US$13,000.

CONCERT FOR NEPAL

Gorkhaly Foundation organized a fundraising concert featuring current Nepal’s Rock Band Albatross, Diwas Gurung and other local artists to raise funds for the foundation’s on-going efforts in Nepal. During the concert the foundation honored the brave VA-TF1 international urban search and rescue team for their relief efforts after the devastating Nepal Earthquake. The concert took place at the State Theater – 220 N Washington St, Falls Church, VA. 650 guests attended the concert.

DINE FOR NEPAL

Chef Doug Alexander of Art & Soul, Willard Inter-Continental and Gorkhaly Foundation hosted a dinner event to rebuild Barpak. This event raised over 7K at the event by 100 plus well-wishers.

“WAITING FOR MAMU” SCREENING

In support of 2012 CNN Hero Pushpa Basnet’s dream to build the Butterfly Home, a home for homeless children in Nepal, GF screened the documentary based on Pushpa Basnet’s life called “Waiting For Mamu” in Washington, DC. The director, Thomas Morgan, was present and took questions from the viewers. 100% of the proceeds was given to the Butterfly Home project.

WALK FOR NEPAL

After a year of preparation and in partnership with COMMITTED and Nepal ko Yuwa (NKY) , also a 501(c)(3) organization, GF raised over $36K for 14 small non profits in Nepal. There were over 45 volunteers, 500+ walkers, and 700+ donors/sponsors. All proceeds from the event were distributed to the 14 participating non-profits. All financial responsibility was taken by NKY, which administers the program globally.

FIFA XBOX TOURNAMENT

This event gave birth to the Gorkhaly Foundation. Neeraj P. Gorkhaly, the founder, organized the tournament as an event for the Nepali Summerfest, a youth sports and entertainment festival. Winners were all given donated prizes and the cash from registration went to the first place winner’s choice of non-profit organization that participated at the festival. All cash collected for the tournament went to the winner’s choice, COMMITTED, a 501(c)(3) organization.
